The 5396G-017 reinterprets Patek's Annual Calendar Reference 5396 — a design first introduced with the mechanism's patent in 1996 — in white gold for the first time in this configuration. The sunburst blue dial deepens toward black at the rim, a gradient that gives the surface real depth without ever competing with legibility. Twelve baguette-cut diamond hour-markers, set flush against the dial rather than raised, add a quiet sparkle that reads as restraint rather than statement — a detail that separates this reference from its gem-set siblings in the collection.

At 38.5mm, the fully polished white gold case sits at the more wearable end of Patek's complication lineup, equally suited to daily rotation or formal use. The sapphire display caseback opens the movement to view, and the shiny navy blue alligator strap with a matching white gold fold-over clasp keeps the palette tonal and considered from dial to wrist.

Behind the caseback is the calibre 26-330 S QA LU 24H, Patek's self-winding annual calendar movement built around the mechanism the manufacture invented and patented in 1996 — advancing automatically through 30- and 31-day months and asking for only a single correction each year, at the end of February. Finishing carries the Patek Philippe Seal throughout: a 21K gold central rotor, Gyromax® free-sprung balance, and Spiromax® balance spring, running across 339 parts and 34 jewels. A brand-new 2026 example, full set.
